Our Mission

Project BloodLine is dedicated to saving lives by equipping communities with the knowledge, skills, and resources to respond effectively in bleeding emergencies. Through hands-on training, public awareness, and partnerships, we empower all individuals, regardless of their background to act quickly and confidently when every second counts.

Who We Serve

We provide free-of-cost bleeding control training and low-cost certified courses to ensure that lifesaving skills are accessible to everyone. We stand out by expanding access to underserved and rural areas where training opportunities are scarce and communities may be unprepared for emergencies, circumstances that could cost lives. Our economic and bilingual training services bridge this gap, offering bilingual instruction to empower more people with the ability to act.

About The Founder

Hello, My name is Andre Aguirre,

I'm the founder of Project BloodLine, a life-saving initiative dedicated to providing STOP THE BLEED® training and resources to underserved communities in San Antonio, especially Spanish-speaking populations. My main goal is to empower individuals to respond effectively in emergencies, giving them the skills and tools to save lives when every single second counts.

Meet The Team

Our dedicated team at Project BloodLine consists of experts in medicine, research, training, and relations.

Our Story

Project BloodLine is an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to address the lack of critical public health need. Addressing the lack of accessible bleeding control education and resources in underserved communities in San Antonio. Project BloodLine is built on the belief that every person deserves the educational and skills required to save a life. Our organization was established with the purpose to equip individuals with the confidence, knowledge, and tools to respond effectively in bleeding emergencies.

The organization was founded by Andre Aguirre, a certified STOP THE BLEED® instructor and a researcher at UT Health San Antonio, a leading medical institution in San Antonio, Texas. Witnessing firsthand how time and access barriers could cost lives, Andre launched Project BloodLine as a life-saving initiative to make proper training accessible. Due to the prominence of Spanish-speaking individuals in San Antonio, he placed an emphasis on delivering this crucial training to underserved and hispanic communities, communities that are often overlooked by San Antonio's local emergency preparedness efforts and organizations. His mission was simple yet powerful, ensuring that anyone, regardless of background, income, location, or language, could gain the ability to save a life when the clock is ticking and every second counts.

Since its initial founding, Project BloodLine has grown to be a licensed partner of the U.S. Department of Defense and its National STOP THE BLEED® Campaign. This partnership allows the organization to deliver certified training by the Stop the Bleed Coalition and the American College of Surgeons, which ensures the highest level of educational and safety standards. Beyond maintaining full compliance with Department of Defense regulations, Project BloodLine is backed by Dr. Kumarapperuma, a knowledgable PhD researcher at UT Health and local physicians and data statisticians to ensure an effective program and work on effective outreach.

At its core, the organization's mission is to empower individuals to save lives. Project BloodLine is proud to offer free bleeding control training and low-cost certified courses at nominal operational fees ($5 to $15) with a goal to acquire funding to completely eradicate costs. There is currently only one other organization in San Antonio with a Department of Defense educational license, usually with English-only instruction. Project BloodLine fills the language-barrier gap by offering bilingual (English-Spanish) and community centered training throughout San Antonio. This approach enables widespread preparedness in areas where medical response times are longer and access to this education is sparse.

The foundation's programs combine hands-on practical training, public awareness campaigns, and institutional partnerships to create measurable community impact. Project BloodLine''s mission is to collaborate with schools, local law enforcement, healthcare facilities, and universities to host training sessions, public outreach events, and awareness events.

One of the organization's most forward-looking efforts is its integration of research and data-driven evaluation into community outreach. Through pre- and post-training surveys, Project BloodLine plans to collect valuable data on participant knowledge, confidence, and response readiness to expand Stop the Bleed® research. Producing meaningful statistics that can help define a national effort in bleeding control education strategies. Contributing to scientific understanding of how public health training programs influence outcomes. Ensuring Project BloodLine's impact doesn't just stay in San Antonio, but resonates nation-wide, translating local impacts to broader healthcare improvements.

Together, our team shares one mission: a community in which no lives are lost due to a lack of immediate response. We emphasize the "preventable" in statistics such as "Bleeding out is the number one cause of preventable death after injury." Every person trained through Project BloodLine represents another life potentially saved. What began as a student's passion project has evolved into a hopeful brings between medical knowledge and community.
